PROGRESS is designer athletic wear inspired by art history. I aimed to combine my love of fitness with my two academic passions: graphic design and art history. Each product is hand drawn and tiled to create a seamless, half-drop pattern.
Each package was crafted and cut on a laser cutter to fit the needs of its item.
The Ab-Ex Legging is inspired by Abstract Expressionism. This legging was a derivative of Franz Kline’s Painting Number 2 (1954.) The Pop Tank is inspired by Pop Art. This tank top was inspired by the colors frequently seen in North America’s Pop movement. The Bauhaus Bra is inspired by the Bauhaus art school in Germany. Triangles, circles, and squares are prevalent in Bauhaus design. Primary colors (red, yellow, and blue) are also a focus of Bauhaus design. This sports bra was inspired by the Bauhaus’ in influence on modern architecture and the lines of the school itself.
